This movie is based on the on the best-selling novel of the same name, Seabiscuit. It is the story of redemption of a group of people during the great depression. America fell in love with an undersized racehorse with an oversized heart. Charles Howard (Jeff Bridges) is a successful businessman who lost his first wife and young son and is now starting over with a new wife. The diminutive Seabiscuit is a racehorse that the racing professionals thought would never be more than a low-level claiming horse.
The movie will have you on your feet cheering by the end as Seabiscuit faces off with Triple Crown winner War Admiral in one of the most-famous races in history. There are several great performances by Toby Maguire (Cider House Rules, Spiderman as Seabiscuit’s underdog jockey Red Pollard), Chris Cooper and Elizabeth Banks.

Hall of Fame Jockey Gary Stevens gave a first-rate first-tme performance as legendary Jockey George Woolf.
The film received seven Oscar nominations and is now considered one of the greatest horse racing films ever made.
