It is a moving and realistic black & white film that will leave an impression on all film audiences. Raging Bull Follows the boxing and personal life of former middleweight boxing champion Jake LaMotta. The ups and downs in the ring and in his personal life out of the ring covering a 30-year period. The boxing scenes are realistic and brutally shot. This film will definitely leave an impact.

Fun Facts: DeNiro weighed 150 pounds as the younger LaMotta and packed on 60 extra pounds to play the older version.

De Niro won his first Best Supporting Actor for “The Godfather Part 2.” He won his first Best Actor for “Raging Bull.”

Joe Pesci was known as a singer in New York, and film director Martin Scorsese did remember him in a low budget movie called “The Death Collector” and offered him the part of “Joey LaMotta. “

Cathy Moriarty was an 18-year-old recent high school graduate who entered a beauty pageant at a bar near her home.  When it was over, a man comes up to her and asks if he can take her picture and get her phone number. She obliges. A couple days later the man calls her at home. “My name is Joe Pesci and I’m doing a movie with Robert DeNiro and I showed your picture to Bob and our director, Marty and they want to meet you.”
